Close to the village stands the impressive Kouros of Apollonas, an unfinished statue measuring 10.5 meters in length and lying on its back. The sculpture dates back to the 6th century BC.

Every year on June 28th, Apollonas hosts the Fisherman’s Festival. Residents from across Naxos are invited to join in the celebration, which begins with evening prayers at Agios Ioannis Church. The priest then blesses the boats and the sea, followed by festivities featuring traditional music and freshly prepared fish and seafood.

The village also offers a small sandy beach, lined with a few taverns, cafés, tourist shops, and a mini-market.
